If you are an individual making a financial contribution, you are eligible for a rebate of up to 75% of your total contributions as per the City of Toronto's contribution rebate program. Here are some sample cost calculations:
Your rebate (up to a $1000 maximum) is based on your total contributions to any city councillor and/or mayoral candidates and is calculated as follows:
Less than $25: not eligible for a rebate
$25 to $300: 75% of your total contributions
$301 to $1000: $225 plus 50% of the difference between your total contributions and $300
Over $1000: $575 plus 33 1/3% of the difference between your total contributions and $1000
Please note that the maximum contribution amount to any one city councillor candidate is $750.
